  Internship
The Office of Motohisa Furukawa offers internship opportunities for qualified college students, graduate students, and recent graduates.

The intent of the program is to offer foreign students a rare opportunity to observe and participate in the workings of the Japanese Diet through a full or part-time internship in our Tokyo office. There is also the opportunity to visit Mr. Furukawafs Nagoya Constituency to experience political activism at a grassroots level.
Interns become an integral part of our offices, are exposed to many aspects of the legislative process, and are able to spend much of their time on substantive activities. Our goal is to offer as rewarding an experience as possible, while fulfilling existing needs. In Tokyo, interns are therefore encouraged to observe the Diet's plenary meetings, take advantage of the Diet Library, and study the role of the legislative committees. In Nagoya, the focus is on day-to-day campaigning, providing a valuable introduction to local politics in Japan.
The main responsibilities of the intern will include:

- Initiating and conducting various research projects and/or programs, drafting speeches or essays, and assisting with the office's public relations efforts.
- Maintaining the English website, as needed.
- Participating in weekly staff meetings to plan/discuss office and project work flow.
- Providing administrative support, including proofreading and assisting with phone calls.
- Attending and reporting on Diet legislative committee meetings and/or other off-site meetings.
  Qualifications:

- Interns work on a voluntary basis.
- Interns are responsible for securing their own housing for the duration of their internship. If you would like any guidance or recommendations, our staff can assist you.
